News Release; January 5, 2012

There will be a convention in 2012, in Branson, MO, in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks in the southwest part of the state. Mark your calendars for July 25 — 28, 2012.

Branson, located in Taney County, with Lake Taneycomo, Table Rock Lake, and Silver Dollar City nearby has much to offer for any visitor even without a PMCC convention. Branson is 45 miles south of Springfield, 220 miles from Tulsa, 220 miles south of Kansas City, 175 miles north of Little Rock, and 250 miles from St. Louis.

The Grand Plaza Hotel, the convention home of Show Me the Postmarks 2012 is located just a block off the Hwy 76 strip, about 4 miles west of U.S. Hwy 65. The address is 245 N. Wildwood Dr. Convention rates will be $84.00 for a standard room or $104 for a mini-suite. Included is the complimentary 'Grand' Breakfast served from 7-10am daily, free Wi-Fi and mini-refrigerator. The hotel also features a nice indoor pool, exercise room, and fine restaurant on the top floor. The big room is 1625 sq. foot, with lots of windows and a sliding wall to close off a section for our meeting room. For additional information on Branson check www.ExploreBranson.com.

You can begin making your reservations now by calling 1-417-336-6646 or 1-800-850-6646 or going to their website www.bransongrandplaza.com using the code PMCC12. Convention rates are also good for 3 days before and 3 days after. If there is a need to cancel the reservation, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Other than a rather modest set-up fee for the convention room; the cheaper overall rates are dependent upon the total number of room nights the club brings to the hotel.

For those arriving on Tuesday, there will be a reception for all convention goers at our timeshare condo about 2 miles from the hotel. May try to put together a tour of the area Tuesday afternoon so attendees may get the lay of the land. Let me [Gary Hendron] know if you would be interested.

Auction(s), exhibits, speakers, freebie tables, Post Office tour, ice cream walk, the usual sales tables, hopefully a Post Office station, opening reception, convention cachets, booster bucks raffle, are among things being planned. Freebie material and auction lot donations can be sent at any time to Gary. Raffle tickets are available at $1 each, 6 for $5, or 13 for $10. Lynda is making a patriotic-style quilt to be raffled as the top prize. The booster bucks (raffle) will be used to help defray convention expenses.
