Comment: Established on October 3, 1804 with Rufus Easton as its first postmaster. Building was constructed in 1873 at 815 Olive Street. Dedicated on March 14, 1884. This building housed many federal agencies and the last one to move out was the postal sub-station on July 18, 1975. The old zip code 63101 was discontinued and replaced by 63155 at their new location.
