Comment: Originally established in LAFAYETTE COUNTY, ARKANSAS on January 31, 1874 with Edwin Bancroft as its first postmaster. Changed to MILLER COUNTY on December 22, 1874. IMPORTANT HISTORICAL FACTS: On February 5, 1903, the Postmaster General ordered that the post office be listed in BOWIE COUNTY, TEXAS, although it was located in MILLER COUNTY, ARKANSAS.
