Comment: In Mackinac County. It was originally established as the Jacob City, MI Post Office on February 23, 1882 with Frank J. Becker as its first postmaster. It discontinued operation on January 24, 1883 and was re-named Moran #1 on January 24, 1883 to April 1, 1898; then the name changed to Allenville, MI on April 1, 1898 until it discontinued operation on August 31, 1958. The last postmaster at the Allenville, MI Post Office was James G. Erskine. The building shown is all of what is left of the once prominent Allenville, MI Post Office. It is important to note that the Moran, MI #2 Post Office was established on May 14, 1910 with Allen P. Hulbert as its first postmaster, and still is in operation today with zip code 49760.
